As tough as they come
Thermoplastic copolyester, also referred to as TPC, is a tough elastomer that combines the strength of polyurethane with the high temperature properties of PVC. On plied belting, copolyester is often used for its high release. Mol Belting offers a monolithic copolyester material as part of our ThermoKing line. This material is called TPH. TPH is an extruded material built for toughness with thicknesses ranging from 1-4 millimeters.
TPH is structurally similar to Hytrel® and is used in industries such as food processing and automotive. It is designed for various cutting applications but can be used for trackseal within the automotive industry. When used as a belt, this material must be tensioned properly to prevent slippage. TPH is yellow in color when used in the automotive industry for safety reasons. Generally, TPH is a light cream color when used in food applications.
Here are some of the key features of copolyester:
- High release
- High temperature
- Good abrasion resistance
- Good chemical resistance
